Not having a budget for custom cabinets for the laundry room/ mudroom makeover. I decided to tackle an IKEA hack for this room and it turned out amazing. It gave the room a custom cabinet look for a fraction of the price.
Here are a few photos of the build out process. I hired a handyman to trim out the IKEA cabinet to create the custom built-in look.
Here are the items I purchased from IKEA-
For the inside of the cabinet I bought two of the EKET drawers and stacked them to create drawer storage inside the cabinet. The EKET are push open and close drawers. The ALEX drawers also fit into the BRIMES wardrobe, but they were out of stock. The ALEX drawer system easily pulls open and shut.
I also bought 3 KLEPPSTAD shelves to make additional storage to the Mud Room built-in. We cut them down slightly to make them fit and added brackets from the hardware store because we needed support brackets to hold up the shelf.
I recently bought the Alex 9 drawer dresser after seeing in your post that it fits inside the Brimnes wardrobe. But after getting it I’m realizing the dresser is 3/4 of an inch deeper than the wardrobe interior. Any suggestions on how to make it fit?
